Summer holidays have begun! The 2008-09 school year begins September 2.

Canada’s National History Society has announced the 25 finalists for the 2008 Governor General’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching Canadian History. Included in the list of 25 is Westmount's own Mr Neil Robinson.

The course selection deadline has passed for Mid/High students: click here for grade 6-8 course descriptions, forms and information; click here for grade 9-12 course descriptions, forms and information. Limited course selections remain for forms submitted after the deadline!

This is a new private venture started by one of our Westmount parents - early order deadline has passed but orders are still being received to July 31. Recently posted - the school's Education Plan for 2008-2011. Also, a number of Charter Board policies have been approved/revised, click here for details.

COMING EVENTS:

  • June 23 - Ten-Digit Dialling begins in Alberta - be prepared to add the 403 area code when dialling the school's phone and fax numbers!
  • July 4 - Main, Student Services and Communications Offices close for the summer. Business & Communications reopen on August 18, Student Services on August 25.
  • July 9 - Business Office closes for the summer, reopening on August 18.
  • July 28 - August 9 - Westmount Charter School and Summerstock Calgary present Grease, each evening at Olympic Plaza. Tickets will be available through www.ticketmaster.ca
  • September 2 - first day of 2008-2009 School Year!

    • Parents are reminded that the parking lot south of the school is for staff and students ONLY. This lot is available when there are special events in the evening or on Friday, but during the day from Mon-Thur it is not available for parent parking, and is never to be used for student drop-off. As well, the staff parking lots west and north of the school building, and the Accessible Parking lot west of the building, are not for parent parking or drop-off/pick-up.
